Library Magic In Old Saybrook
Last week I had the pleasure of being invited to perform a library magic show for the kids at the Acton Library in Old Saybrook, CT!
The Acton Library is promoting their summer reading program, "Read Beyond The Beaten Path," this year, by encouraging kids to read books about camping, animals, and arts and crafts.
The shoreline weather couldn't have been better for an outdoor magic show and the turnout was fantastic! About halfway through I noticed a man had arrived and began taking photos. After the show he introduced himself as Wesley from Harbor News. It turned out that Wesley had come for the book sale that the library was holding inside, the same evening, but when he heard the riotous laughter of dozens of children coming from the front lawn he decided to spend his time covering the magic show, instead.
Special thanks to Emily in the Children's Library Department for bringing me in for the event. Here's what she wrote after the show:
What a show! Matt Matthews Magic was a wonderful addition to our yearly summer reading program. Not only did he provide magic, and laughs, he also incorporated reading and literature into the show. So much fun, and we look forward to having him back to the library.
It was my pleasure to be part of the summer reading program!
Magician Matt Matthews performs at libraries, schools, and other events all throughout Connecticut and in parts of surrounding states. E-mail Matt Matthews to check on availability and pricing for your event!
